17. An Evening's Stroll

A delicate ivory anklet fashioned as a woman bending easily backwards to grip her own ankles, unrestrained, with a face of little to no feature. Perhaps she is an acrobat or member of a menagerie? I am usually not one for jewelry or trinkets, but this one is carved with delicate intricacy upon the inside, only visible at the perfect angle in clear light. Rihana says that it is enchanted with Abjuration magic of no little effect. She says that it will help preserve me when I am 'flitting about'. I am not quite sure what she means by this. I do know that with the proper calm held within my mind, and the phrase "an evening stroll" silence embraces me for a few moments, long enough to study an opponent unheard and hopefully undetected. It has aided me in sneaking past the evening guard more than once, to get some time by myself in the darkness. The Else feels so strong this deep under the horizon that it draws me to try and touch it. I should have a more sensible head, considering the dangers of this place.
