Malakon's Forceful Strike

Conjuration
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 4
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Target: Weapon touched
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell calls into being a field of force around any one melee weapon of large size or smaller. If used on missiles, it will effect up to 50 per casting.

The force field has 2 effects. First of all, the affected weapon gains the ability to strike incorporeal creatures, ignoring the normal 50% miss chance, for the duration of the spell.

Secondly, the force encasing the weapon can alter its shape, allowing the instrument to deal blunt, slashing, or piercing damage as need dictates. Because dealing a different sort of damage fundamentally alters the way in which the weapon is wielded, all strikes from the weapon (when attempting to deal alternate damage) are made with a -2 circumstance penalty to attack and damage rolls. The combatant, however, still gains her normal bonuses for using the weapon. Thus, a Rogue/Sorceress with Weapon Finess (Rapier), would be able to cast this spell and still gain her Dex bonus to attack, even while pounding on a Clay Golem.

Changing what type of damage is dealt by the weapon is a free action, and may be done once per round.

The material component for this spell is a small (1"), crystalline replica of the type of weapon to be affected. The replica must cost no less than 50 gps, and must be crushed and sprinkled over the target

Forceful

Item Enchantment

A forceful weapon has two inherent abilities. First of all, as a free action it may become encased in a field of force, allowing the weapon to strike incorporeal creatures as a ghost touch weapon. The shape of the field may also, as a free action, be changed, allowing the weapon to deal piercing, slashing or blunt damage as need dictates. Using a weapon to deal damage that it was not designed for, however, is difficult, and all attack and damage rolls made while this feature is in use are at a -2 penalty.

No more than one free action per round may be performed in relation to the operations of this effect.
