The Truathak are a magically created race of dragon-like humanoids. They are the product of magical breeding experiments performed by the Nemeddians, an ancient race of people who once dwelled in the Great Tariquan Desert long before the Kaeron first swept across the land. The Nemeddians worshipped dragons, both good and evil, as gods. They created the Truathak to be the servants and defenders of their temples. And although the Nemeddian people are long vanished beneath the sands, it is thought that at least some of these creatures have survived in isolated regions to the present day ...

A Truathak's demeanor and outlook on life is greatly dependent upon the dragon stock from which it was created. For example, Silver Truathak are likely to be generous, noble, and are likely to get along well with humans and elves. Red Truathak, however, are more likely to be found leading hordes of goblin troops down upon a helpless mountain village.

Truathak stand 7' tall, and have a 20' wingspan. They are covered from head to toe in scales, the appearance of which depends entirely upon their draconic heritage - metallic Truathak's scales tend to be fine and brilliant, whereas chromatic Truathak have large, sharp scales who's colors are dull flat. Their facial features are humanoid, but their eyes have the vertical slits of a cat.

Combat

Truathak are cunning warriors, and are especially effective in groups. When encountered in numbers of 5 or greater, they will always have at least one sorcerer in their ranks. Truathak make effective use of flanking tactics, and tend to focus on spellcasters first. Unless there is some compelling reason not to, a Truathak's first attack will be its breath weapon.

Breath Weapon (Su): A Truathak's breath weapon mirror's that of its base dragon type, and is either a 20' cone or a 40' line. It does 5d6 pts of damage, with a Reflex save of 18 for 1/2 damage. A metallic Truathak gets only one of its base dragon's 2 breath weapon types. A Truathak may use its breath weapon once every 1d4 rounds.

Elemental Subtype (Ex): If the Truathak's base dragon type has an elemental subtype, (ie fire, cold), the Truathak is also of the same subtype.

Evasion (Ex): As the 2nd lvl Rogue ability

Truathak Characters: Truathak add +2 for purposes of determining total character level. A Truathak's favored class is sorcerer. Truathak clerics are currently a mystery, as it is unclear who they would worship at this time.
