Pooka

Medium Fey
Pookas embody the manic, demented genius that permeates the Unseelie court of Arawn's Otherworld. They are the fire that whips the faithful of the Cult into a frenzy, then drives them out into this world to wreak havoc. They themselves enter the real world only to assist the most favored of the Cult's cells, and even then only in times of dire need. Pookas are also the creators of most of the Cult's ecstatic rituals, as they draw their power directly from song and dance. In its natural form a Pooka has the torso of a muscular man, but its lower half is covered in fur, and it's haunch-like legs end in horse hooves. Its head resembles that of a goat, with long horns and pupil-less, milky white eyes. CombatPookas are crafty combatants when need be, but prefer to revel in the chaos of melee. They rely heavily on their gaze to paralyze their victims, and concentrate all of their attacks on the first foe who does not cower before them. Frightful Gaze (Su): The Pooka may use its gaze as a free action. Any creature with an intelligence score that enters into melee with it must make a Will save DC 17 or cower in terror for 1d4 rounds. Once a victim has successfully saved against a particular Pooka¹s gaze, she may not be affected by it again. Spells (SA): Pookas have the spellcasting ability of a 5th lvl sorcerer. Pooka spells, however, are generally cast through dance and song. The casting time for all of their spells is 1 full round, and all spells have have verbal and somatic components. Pookas do not need material components for their magic, nor does their casting provoke an attack of opportunity – in fact, it gives the Pooka a +2 circumstance bonus to AC. Casting, however, takes a full round. |
