Born Khristi Faroch, youngest daughter of the proprietor of the most famous inn in the Vast (the Wizard's Hand Inn in the town of Maskyr's Eye), she fled from an arranged marriage at the age of fourteen, determined to see the world and to become famous throughout the Realms. She studied for a few years at a magic school in Tantras (under a former student of the infamous Nahal), and then took to traveling with merchant caravans until she landed in Haranshire and met the rest of the eventual Companions. She is now known far and wide as Khrizti of the Nine Lives, Companion of Evernight, Peer of the Realm, God-Slayer.

Khrizti has cultivated a ditzy, clumsy facade since childhood, having learned early on that it was the easiest way to avoid doing any work at her father's inn. She is pretty, blonde, violet-eyed, intelligent but slightly absent-minded, and flirtatious. She favors flashy jewelry, and impractical long gowns and cloaks in rich fabrics of bright red and green. Khrizti earned the "Nine Lives" epithet early in her adventuring career, during a period in which she rashly got herself killed with distressing regularity, only to be repeatedly brought back to life by her failthful comrades. She has established a keep and small wild magic school in Haranshire, some miles west of the capital, and is in the process of installing a world-class dungeon underneath. Her favored modes of travel are teleportation, magical flight, or riding her fearful peryton mount, accompanied by her hawk familiar. She possesses an enormous array of magical devices. Her major items include a specialized staff of the magi, topped by a crystal ball clutched in the claws of a platinum umber-hulk talon, robes of the wild mage, and the Crown of Stars. Due to magical enhancements, she is effectively of sage-level, and is compiling a vast store of knowledge about the society and customs of the drow. Her major contributions to world magical research include Khrizti's Rolling Globe and Khrizti's Unnatural Selector.

She is unmarried, but entertains both an on-again-off-again romance with Sean McGregor and a large-scale crush on Drizzt Do'Urden.

"Mind? Oh, no, not at all! I simply love doing interviews, really! I hope you didn't have any trouble getting in... Oh, yes, I'm quite sorry about the gargoyles and the golems, they do get restless sometimes, you know, and they're really quite mindless, don't know a press crew when they see one, I wonder if I couldn't program that into them somehow?... Hmm... Oh, dear... Never mind, have some rose tea, won't you?...

"Recently?... No, I haven't been doing much. I sent one of my apprentices on a fact-finding trip and she should have been back already, so I've been scrying and sitting around hoping to get some word back. I'm sure she's fine, she's a capable girl... reminds me of me, and she has a good cleric with her. And I've been reading, of course, and working on the dungeon... it's going to be killer, totally the best one in the Realms. I hope lots of people come out to try it. And the Companions gift shop in Milbourne is doing so well, be sure to stop by there while you're around... we have a new line of image-globes out, all full-color and totally three-dimensional. I almost went blind burning one of them, it's huge, the size of a dragon's head, solid crystal - Broken Spire Keep in every smallest detail, and you can see scenes through the windows of the Companions and our friends. It's incredible, if I do say so myself. Sean loved it, I put him on top of the battlements with his bow... He's so easy to please, really, just flatter him a little and he turns to butter.

"Favorite moments?... Oh, now, that is a tough one... On the whole, I didn't like the Underdark much... ironic, really, we spent so much time there and got named for it and all, but it really is dark, and dirty and wet and there are way too many things down there that will just kill you for not being local. But some interesting things happened there... of course, everyone knows about the City of the Glass Pool, and Shabboath and all the aboleth and the "rain of treasure" incident. Did you know we made a deal with some mind-flayers to pull that one off?... No, really, I wrote up a contract and everything. Can't be too careful with illithid, but they stuck to their end of the bargain, I must admit. Torm wasn't too happy about that one. And then the time poor what's-his-face got eaten by the purple worm... Valendyr. I liked it best when we weren't underground, though. Like when we cleaned out Myth Drannor, at least some of that wasn't dungeons. The fight with Auril was cool... ooh, please forgive the pun! It was freezing, of course, she was the winter goddess... snow and ice and everything else, but my goodness that was a good fight. Can't recall offhand whether I died that time or not... And then the other big army, the demons that attacked Broken Spire. Good showing all around. And the Raveners... oh, but I don't think we're supposed to talk about them, actually, sorry... maybe you could ask Torm.

"I don't know, though, a lot of the stuff I remember isn't even big stuff... I remember Balfour falling into an acid pit in a dungeon, and we had to pry open the trapdoor and fish him out. I remember fighting an owlbear once... and a necromancer's lair that was just full of zombies and flesh golems and my hair smelled like preservatives for weeks afterwards. I remember a puzzle room with lots of different colored globes, that was a toughie. And poor Grizzler, bless his little dwarfy soul, who helped us all get started in the first place. Buying him beer and playing cards with him so he would give us info. And Lord Peirgeron, what a sweetheart... we owe him so much just for putting up with us, especially Sean.

"Funny, I remember way more about what the others have done than what I've done myself. Torm killing dragons singlehandedly, Balfour killing that pit fiend... Nazur killing the Tarrasque pretty much by himself - with a dagger! That was too funny.

"It's been strange. We started out in this little backwater town in the middle of nowhere, dealing with a kidnapping case and a little problem with some orcs and a water-summoning medallion, and the next thing you know we're chatting with Khelben and Drizzt and Elminster and the Chosen, fighting dragons, and meeting gods, and later fighting gods for gods' sake, and it's just been so weird all the way through.

"I'd never want to do anything else, though, ever... And I'd never want to be with any other people. They're the best, every last one of them, even if sometimes they get on your nerves. But, you know, we're family, we've been together forever. I wouldn't change it for the world."
