The Kingdom of Saelis

  Geography   Empires   Society & Religion
Talanu | Islands | DeathWaste Kar-Thone | Târiq | Bandit Kingdoms | Trall-Goth | (Currency) Relgion | History | Calendar | People

Summary

  • Ruler: Dúnlawai mac Gwalchmai(HMBarb20);
  • Capitol: Que-Keshu

    Economy

    The kingdom of Saelis has little in the way of economy. The barbarians of this land have devoted themselves to the defense of the nation. They primarily ride the Deathwaste and the Adonai Mountains, quashing goblinoid uprisings and intercepting whatever recent threat has come rolling out of the magical chaos of the Waste. In recognition of the protective service the nation provides, the other kingdoms grant them the supplies that they need.

    Geography

    The Adonai Mountains of Saelis Saelis is bordered on the north by the Deathwaste, on the south and east by the Adonai mountains, on the west by the Aerioth ocean.

    People

    The people of Saelis are comprised primarily of a coalition of barbarian tribes – the Bear Paw tribe, the Sand Dragon tribe, the Tribe of the Shifting Winds, and the Firewalker tribe. All of them are descendants of the barbarians who came down with the remnants of Daran Kar-Thone’s army. They accepted a charge from the Emperor to defend the Empire several years after it was established, once it became apparent that the Deathwaste was growing and infecting the areas around it with foul creatures and strange magics. Since that time, the original tribe has split into separate groups, but the Bear Paw have always held dominance, in honor of the work done by the original tribe. Unlike the barbarians to the north, they are less nomadic, and have established an actual city, though they are still affected by wanderlust. This thirst is slaked by service in the Wall Riders, the name for the organized patrols that keep the nation safe.

    Major Cities

    Que-Keshu

    The only established city in the kingdom, this city primarily provides an administrative center, and a place of comfort for the "soft ones" of the southern kingdoms if they choose to visit. It is also a thriving market place, as many of the goods that are brought south by merchants from Târiq and the city-states of Trall-Goth end up here before making their way to the south.
