The Empire of Kar-Thone
- Druid Copper, Priest's Bread, Whore's Ale (1CP)
- So called because it is the coin most often offered to druids and priests. It is also a third of
the standard price for a common prostitute, often spent soon after on ale. Bears the symbol of a
sickle on both sides.
- Dreadful (2CP)
- The cost of most plays -- which are really quite awful on balance. Bears the symbol of a scyth on
both sides.
- Starter, Sack, Grain (1SP)
- The base coin of the realm -- what most transactions use. The first coin pressed with a symbol
upon it. Bears the symbol of 4 sacks of grain on each side.
- Lyre, Golden Lyre (1GP)
- Bears the symbol of a lyre on each side
- Imperial Wolf (50GP)
- This coin is minted not of gold, but of mithril. It bears the symbol of a great wolf's head on
one side, and the Imperial Seal on the other.
- Sword, Great Sword (1PP)
- So named because sword blades once were used as a commodity, roughly equal to 5 Lyres worth of
goods. Bears a stylized sword on each side.
The City-state of Mellik
The city-states do not mint their own coins, but do often have different terminology
- Whore (1CP)
- The going rate for a prostitute in Mellik
- Dagger (1SP)
- A few silver pieces are often just enough to earn you a dagger in your back, in some dark alley.
- Drop of Blood, Blood (1GP)
- Much of the gold near Mellik (and Allesh-Gilliam) takes on a reddish hue -- some say due to the
blood that is nightly shed in this most dangerous of cities.
- Fool (50GP)
- What Imeprial Wolves that do find their way into Mellik are called such because only a fool would
put so much of his money into one coin. These coins are only accepted by those who trade with or in
Kar-thone.
The City-state of Allesih-Gilliam
The city-states do not mint their own coins, but do often have different terminology
- Half-whore(1CP)
- So named because whores in Allesh-Gilliam are worth far more -- a jestful reaction to the term
people of Mellik use in reference to copper pieces.
- Harvest (1GP)
- Also named because of the red tinge of gold in the North. A reference to the
harvest moon.
- Mellick Dandy (1PP)
- The greatly inflated price of a room and most services offered to foolish "merchants" and
travellers from Mellik.
Târiq
- Sand (1CP)
- Named for it's resemblance to the color of sand. Unadorned.
- Ilâh's Moon, Ilâh's Daughter (1SP)
- Named for the silver of the moon. Bears a cresent moon on each side.
- Sultan (1GP)
- The base of most Târiqian nobles' wealth. Named after the first Sultan to mint his own
coin. Bears the now abstract image of Sultan Sahan. This coin cannot be used for purchase during
Qadar.
- Ilâh's Sea (2GP)
- The only minted electrum coin in Talanu. So named because of it's blue color. Bears rippled, wave
like etchings
- Ilâh's Sun (1PP)
- Called such because like the sun (Ilâh) it shines brightly. Bears the holy symbol of Ilâh on each
side.
